Australian Shepherds

Silly topic I know, but perhaps it will get your attention. I have a miniature Australian Shepard. She is quite friendly, except towards particular other animals. When I take her for a walk past the petting zoo she seems particularly interested in the goats and could care less about the pot-bellied pigs or emus. Can this be innate in their genes? How does my little Aussie from Iowa even know what a sheep looks like?

aint life grand! All the mysteries...All the stuff stuffed into brains before we even hit the turf. Go to sheep herding trials ( utube no doubt has something) sometime and watch the dogs work... very cool and a lot of what you see is just nature tweked some by the human...
